We're excited to announce a new Rolling Ranking system (thank you Steve Bromilow) for the 420 Class GBR, designed to track your performance across the season and reward consistent sailing!
Here's how it works:
- Track your best results: Your ranking is based on your best 3 results from the 5 most recent GBR 420 Class Association events.
- Stay consistent: The more events you participate in, the better your chances of improving your ranking!
- CHIPS scoring: We use the CHIPS3 (High Point Scoring) methodology, which means the higher your score, the better!
- Teamwork counts: Rankings are based on consistent helm and crew pairings. If you change partners, you'll start a new ranking as a fresh pair.
- No event? No problem: If you miss an event, you'll receive a score of 0 for that event. Don't worry, you can make it up at the next one!
- Keep track: We'll update the Rolling Ranking after each event, so you can see how you're doing. Check the link below to stay up-to-date!
Why we love the Rolling Ranking:
- It's all about participation: The more you sail, the better your chances of climbing the ranking!
- Consistency is key: It's not just about winning one event, it's about sailing well consistently throughout the season.
- Fair play: Everyone has a chance to improve their ranking, regardless of whether they can attend every event.
- Stay motivated: The Rolling Ranking gives you a goal to strive for all season long!
