Transition Officer

Tim has worked with the Class for many years to help sailors successfully into the Class.  Working closely with the Training Officer and Class Coach to developing training programmes that ensure sailors successfully transition into the Class.  Tim is the main liaison with junior fleets and regional training providers and clubs to promote 420 sailing and leads and runs transition and regional training events (non-RYA funded).  He is also great at helping find sailing partners.

Class Coach

As the Class Coach Jess works closely with the Training Officer and Transition Officer in developing and running the training programmes.  She is responsible for liasising with RYA Youth Squad Coaches to ensure that the Class programme interacts with the Youth Squad programme, ensuring both programmes work together.  Jess's role is responsible for providing feedback to sailors and coaches and  ensuring that all relevant risk assessments are produced each class training event.

Training Officer

Our Training Officers works closely with the Transition Officer and Class Coach to develop all Class training programmes.  They work with the class Treasurer regarding training fees, income, and costs to ensure all bills paid on time and the RYA regarding RYA training matters.

Welfare Officer

The Welfare Officer is responsible for ensuring our class Welfare Policy remains consistent with current best practice and that it is embedded as practical processes in class activities and to be the primary contact for sailors, parents, guardians, and supporters on class welfare matters.

Chair

Our Chair is responsible for the overall managmeent and direction of the Class; ensuring adhearance to the classes constitution, charter, ambition and strategy; driving development in a positive and inclusive manner and ensuring open, transparent, and effective governance.  Simon works closely with the RYA to ensure effective collaboration and utilisation of resources to the benefit of the class and its members.

Sailing Secretary

Our Sailing Secretary is responsible for planning and agreeing the calendar of national racing events and working with the relevant clubs/race management teams to ensure SI's and NOR's are produced and published ahead of events being opened.  Also point of contact at event and with the venue organise registration, members queries, bow numbers, volunteers’ duties etc.

Safety Officer

Our Safety Officers is responsible for ensuring our class Safety Policy remains consistent with current best practice and that all safety requirements needed for racing and training are adhered to.   Also the point of contact for ensuring the provision of ribs meet safety requirements.

Marketing & Media Officer

Our Marketing & Media Officer is responsilbe for promoting the 420 Class Association, managing data in accordance with GDPR and liaising with class sponsors to ensure they get good value from their sponsorship.  They are also responsible for the maintenance of the class Photography and Publicity Policies.

International Events Coordinator

As the International Events Co-ordinator responsible for leading the Class's planning for the major events of the 420 sailing year (World Championships, class-supported European and International events).

Selection Committee

The Selection Committee is an independant committee who's responsibility is to draft, for the Class, any Selection Policies along with selecting sailors in line with these policies.  They should also be contacted for any requests for discretion in realtion to the policies.
