2017 420 World Championships – Day 5

GBR 420 Class Class matters, Event Reports, International events

Day 5 brought lighter winds, flatter sea state and a new challenge, just as we thought it would blow 25 knots every day.

Rob Giardelli and Alex Colquitt were honoured with wearing blue rash vests (pictured) for leading the Open Silver Fleet yesterday. They posted a respectable 13th and 14th today.

Jack Lewis and Charlie Bacon continued their excellent form with a 3rd and 4th. Izzy Davies and Gemma Keers were 4th and then 13th in one of those finishes when it seemed that half the fleet crossed the finish line together.

So, a few GBR sailors have it all to play for tomorrow, the last day of the regatta.

Oh, and local beaches were closed to bathers this afternoon, due to sharks!!!!! We think it’s come for Neil Marsden and only Paul Colquitt is brave enough to go on the RIB with him tomorrow.
