2017 420 World Championships Day 4

GBR 420 Class Class matters, Event Reports, International events

The New Year brings the best day yet for team GBR, including two bullets, the first for Izzy Davies and Gemma Keers and the other for Rob Giardelli and Alex Colquitt. Izzy said “we tacked off right to get clean air. The rest of the fleet went left, giving each other dirty air. We knew we were powered up, so we put the bow down for speed and we popped out 2nd”.

More consistency from Jack Lewis/Charlie Bacon. Eleanor Keers/Aaron Chadwick also continue to impress in the Open Gold fleet. Rhys Lewis and Drew Wright posted a 3rd.

The day followed a familiar pattern of early hot sun, sea breeze (The Doctor) kicking in at 11.00 and building to 20 plus knots by 3.00.

The mood is really up-beat here with most of the sailors having a better day. Clearly the New Year revelry has done everyone good.

Time for some afternoon 30 degree sun and maybe another barbecue.

A great start to 2018.
