2017 420 World Championships

The 420 class will select a GBR team of the following sailors:

U17 Worlds: 3 male/mixed, 3 female partnerships

Open Worlds: 7 male/mixed partnerships

Ladies Worlds: 7 partnerships

The 420 class will travel independently and sailors will arrange their own accommodation. The class will assist with co-ordination of the event, advising on suitable accommodation and logistics for boat transport All entries will be made by the class. The class will arrange for a coach to be present.

The cost will include individual, entry, kit, travel and hotel accommodation and group costs for coach and boat transport. This will be dependent on the number of boats that takeup their place.

An estimate would be in the region of £1,300 for group costs, £2000 for the flight and accommodation £1,300. (The class can advise on possible sources of funding). Group costs are based on 10 boats, 20 sailors, 18 days.

The class will try and assist in providing supervision for sailors where parents are unable to attend.

  • Pay your deposit

Those sailors nominated for the Worlds team after the Spring Selection events will be required to either accept or decline their place by 6pm on Friday June 16th 2017. A non-refundable deposit of £1,000 per sailor should be made as below. Sailors selected after the Autumn series must pay their deposit the Wednesday following the last selection event. Final payment will be made by 3rd November 2017 (tbc).

Communicate, as a team, to co-ordinate boat transport and advise as to which parents can team. Research and book flights and accommodation.
